Sharon Bower Artist Bio

Sharon Bower
Sharon was born and raised in the Quinte countryside. She has recently retired from a thirty- two year teaching career. Sharon paints flowers and buildings with watercolours in an impressionistic whimsical style. She also experiments with pen and ink and mixed media. Her mentors and instructors include many of our local artists such as Donnah Cameron, Marilyn Coulter, Donnah Bojanowski, and Hi Sook Barker. At Queen’s University she was enchanted with the Impressionist painters from her art history and fine arts classes. Sharon has had the delightful experience of participating in painting holidays in France, Sicily and the Greek Isles.

Having taken instruction and painted for over 30 years, Sharon shares her expertise by teaching painting to adults at Loyalist College and in her studio and garden in Bayside. During the March break and summer months she teaches drawing and watercolours to small classes of children.

Her art is on display at the Belleville Art Association Studio and juried shows, SideStreet Gallery in Wellington and the Belleville Hospital . Sharon holds an annual art show and sale the first weekend in June at her Bayside studio and gallery at 547 Whites Road, Trenton.

Sharon is a member of the Belleville Art Association and the Quinte Arts Council.
